The Best Day Ever

Today was the best day ever. Luckily, in Kindergarten, superlatives like "best" aren't limited to 1 thing.

In the morning, we finished learning the alphabet and hunted for all of the letters in animal books with our partners. We also found the principle word, T-H-E, the. Everyone was proud and happy that we learned were introduced to all of the letters in the alphabet.

After that we went outside. It was gray and humid. We began to see animals flying that we'd never noticed before. We were so happy that we had time for 2 science activities! First, we read lots of animal books and tried to imagine which animals could live in the arboretum and which needed different things in their habitat, like more water, space, or wild space. We made a list so we can check it later as we learn about the arboretum. Then we figured out how scientists find evidence -- by using their senses! We made posters of things we observe with each of our five senses. If I hadn't dropped my phone in the toilet I would take a picture.

In the afternoon, we went to Forest School even though it was raining. I liked the muffled sound of play in the rain. I did my favorite thing -- collecting. I got to show people how fun birch bark is to peel into curly pieces and the fun star leaves that fall from sweet gum trees. Hosea and Adair were so happy, they wanted to high-five my leaf over and over again.
